President Moreno met with his economic team in Guayaquil

Early this year, Ecuador’s Central Bank informed that the Ecuadorian economy ended 2017 with a 1,5% growth of the Gross Domestic Product driven by the increase in household consumption and the productive increase of activities such as agriculture, fishing and trade.

Quito, Jan 12 (Andes). – Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno met Friday with this economic team to analyze the country’s economy performance at the end of 2017 and perspectives for this year, informed the Communication Secretariat.

“We all know perfectly that the good administration of the economy allows for investment, production and job creation which are essential in order to generate citizens’ well-being,” said the president at the beginning of the meeting held in Guayaquil.

Early this year, Ecuador’s Central Bank informed that the Ecuadorian economy ended 2017 with a 1,5% growth of the Gross Domestic Product driven by the increase in household consumption and the productive increase of activities such as agriculture, fishing and trade.

For 2018, the economy is estimated to grow 2,04%, a conservative figure, the minister of Economy told Andes Agency.
